These tools automate or otherwise simplify several common research and writing tasks for Mac OS X (and some other) users. They come with no warranty and are released under a Creative Commons license. The links below are to the posts where the files appear on Dataninja, not the files themselves, because the posts may have installation instructions.

Installation: To install any AppleScript for TextWrangler, copy the scpt file to

~/Library/Application Support/TextWrangler/Scripts

Shortcut keys: These AppleScripts are more convenient if you assign keyboard shortcuts to them. To do so, select “Windows: Paletts: Scripts” which will bring up a list of all of your AppleScripts. Then click on “Set key” and press the combination that you want. Test your shortcut first to make sure that it isn’t already assigned to an important function.

Compatibility: The TextWrangler scripts and modules available here should work with BBEdit as well, possibly with slight changes in instructions.
